You’re a genius at reading the room, anticipating needs and planning for what’s to come. As a highly sensing person you’re “on” all the time and people come to you for help. They trust your judgement and the truth is you’re rarely wrong. You see and know things before they happen and some part of you takes on the responsibility and guilt when things don’t go according to plan. The daily stress of life’s demands and constant problem solving are driving the day to day and how can you stop when so many rely on you. Overthinking, people pleasing and perfectionism help manage the chaos but what you really need is a break.

Childhood prepared you to de-escalate conflict by not rocking the boat and making sure the people around you were never too overwhelmed. You absorbed a lot of emotional reactivity and often thought about how you could of done better. Expression of feeling was dangerous, you were judged or labeled as too sensitive. You learned to hide emotions and abandoned your need. While your accomplishments were occasionally celebrated there was a deep desire to be recognized to prove that you were worth loving. Most often you felt like you were alone and whether you knew it or not the grown ups in your life had been through a lot and the marks it left on them left marks on you. Today, when your not shut down, your a top producer, friend to all and get it done’er but often find it too exhausting to care for you.

Hi, I’m Kelly Ayala, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, and I love being a therapist. For the past 16 years I have been helping my clients understand their inner world and patterns of relationship so they can live their most connected and fulfilling lives.
